# DocketStream Data Sources, Coverage, and Update Frequency

> Understand where DocketStream data comes from, which Georgia counties are covered, how frequently records update, and what each data category includes.

DocketStream pulls from authoritative public-record sources maintained by state and county government agencies, then normalizes them into a unified, searchable interface. You see one consistent experience regardless of how the underlying agency formats or exposes its data.

## Where the Data Comes From

Every record in DocketStream originates from an official government source. The table below shows each source, the type of data it provides, and how frequently DocketStream syncs it.

## County Coverage

DocketStream's coverage falls into two tiers:

* **Full data counties (8+):** You get jail rosters, court case records, and GDC corrections data for these counties. Clayton County is one confirmed example of a full-data county.
* **Roster-only counties (27+):** You get live jail roster data — bookings, releases, and bond information — but court and corrections data is not yet available for these counties.
* **North Carolina:** Roster data is available for participating North Carolina counties.

## What Each Data Type Contains

  <Accordion title="Roster Entries (Jail Bookings)">
    Jail roster records are sourced directly from county detention facilities and refreshed every 30–60 minutes. Each entry includes:

    * **Full name** and **date of birth**
    * **Booking date and time**
    * **Release date** (once released)
    * **Charges** listed at the time of booking
    * **Bond amount** and bond type
    * **Mugshot** (where published by the agency)

    Court records are synced from Georgia state court systems multiple times daily. Each case record includes:

    * **Case number** and court type (Superior, State, Magistrate, Municipal)
    * **Defendant name**
    * **Offense description** and applicable statute
    * **Filed date**
    * **Presiding judge**
    * **Case status** (pending, disposed, appealed, etc.)
    * **Scheduled hearing dates**
    * **Dispositions** where available

    Georgia Department of Corrections data provides a view into sentenced offenders and those under GDC supervision. Records include:

    * **GDC offender ID**
    * **Full name**
    * **Sentence details** (offense, length, start date)
    * **Current institution** or supervision type
    * **Parole status** and parole officer assignment (where available)
    * **Projected release date**

    Sex offender data is sourced from the official state registry and updated as the state reports changes. Each record includes:

    * **Full name** and **physical description**
    * **Registered address**
    * **Registering offenses** and conviction details
    * **Current registry status** (active, expired, absconded, etc.)

## Data Freshness

  DocketStream data is only as current as the source agency makes it. Some agencies experience delays in publishing updates to their own systems — for example, a late-night booking may not appear on a county's public roster until the morning. These delays are outside DocketStream's control.

If you need to confirm the absolute latest status of an individual's record, contact the originating agency directly. DocketStream provides the tools to surface and monitor public records efficiently — final verification should always go back to the source.

## Data Integrity

DocketStream does not create records, fill in missing fields with assumptions, or modify data it receives. What you see is a faithful representation of what the government agency published. If a record appears incomplete — for example, a missing release date or blank charge description — that reflects how the source agency published it, not a gap in DocketStream's processing.
